Duties included: General LX duties, including rigging, focusing, plotting and operating shows; operating followspot; setting up AV and sound equipment; operating Nomad power flying system; maintenance of technical equipment; managing the technical staff working on specific events; liaising with visiting companies and venue duty managers; completing regular health and safety checks; ensuring safe working practices. I was also a member of the Operational Health and Safety Team.

Duty Manager/Theatre Host (casual), Theatre Royal Newcastle          Nov 2000–Mar 2011

As Duty Manager: responsible for fire safety, FoH staff management and liaison with visiting company manager during performances. Also responsible for checking and reconciling monies, printing Box Office reports and dealing with any customer complaints. As Usher: dealing with the general public, checking tickets, selling ice creams, sweets, programmes and merchandise, and doing floor duty.
